Two independently diverse fibre rings, each carrying 864 strands, connect 151 Front Street West to Telehouse’s additional Toronto data centre locations at 250 Front Street West and 905 King Street West. Multiple long-distance fibre networks enter the facility directly, and multiple diverse entry points help ensure no single pathway becomes a dependency.

Power Infrastructure Engineered for Continuity
As a mission-critical data centre in Toronto, 151 Front Street West is designed with redundancy at every layer of its power architecture.
The data centre is served by two independent 13.8kV grid feeds routed along separate paths. Multiple transformers distribute power throughout the building to prevent localized failures from cascading. If utility power is interrupted, multiple Telehouse’s redundant UPS systems immediately assume the load, supported up to 15 minutes of battery runtime.
Twenty-four on-site generators provide backup power, supported by two fuel farms housing nine dual-walled tanks with a total capacity of 249,000 litres. This allows the facility to operate at full capacity for 24 hours without refuelling. Supply agreements with multiple fuel vendors support sustained operations if required.
Sustainable and Redundant Cooling
Cooling at 151 Front Street West is delivered through the Enwave Deep Lake Water Cooling (DLWC) system. This system circulates naturally cold water from Lake Ontario through Toronto’s underground energy infrastructure, significantly reducing energy consumption compared to traditional cooling methods.
DLWC services over 100 major downtown buildings, including critical hospitals and financial institutions. A fully redundant mechanical cooling plant within the facility provides backup capacity to ensure continuous operation under all conditions.
This cooling approach supports both environmental efficiency and operational reliability.
Security Across Physical and Digital Domains
Security at the 151 Front Street West data centre is implemented across multiple layers.
Physical Security
Access control is enforced through electromagnetic locking mechanisms, card access systems and biometric authentication, including facial recognition, retinal scanning and fingerprint identification.
More than 100 CCTV cameras monitor the facility 24 hours a day, with 90-day video retention. Mantrap security systems and on-site security personnel operate continuously.
Digital Security
Telehouse Canada maintains a structured digital security program that includes regular vulnerability assessments, endpoint detection and response controls, controlled privileged access and next-generation firewall technologies supported by cloud analytics. Asset inventories are maintained actively, and third-party oversight provides independent validation.
